Join us for a electric Radio Control Autocross. If you have an electric car you want to run, please bring it. For others, ACE will provide common cars for anyone's use.
After the NT's Test & Tune on Friday, an R/C autocross course and practice area will be set up for your enjoyment. Practice is free, and each run will cost $1.00. All proceeds will go to a Packwood charity.
Event Guidelines/Rules for the ACE Charity R/C Autocross are:
This event is intended to be a fun way to raise a donation to a Packwood charity. We intend to run it in that spirit and ask participants to compete with the same intention. The following rules are designed to encourage safety and have fun.
- This is for charity - $1 per run.
- Only electric cars are eligible. We do not have the facilities to run fuel or nitro cars safely.
- There are two classes - Common car – the cars provided by ACE, and "Run what ya brung." (A third class will be created if entries justify it.)
- There is no official tech inspection. Please bring safe equipment. If the event chair believes a vehicle is unsafe, the event chair can require that the vehicle owner demonstrate its safety.
- Any vehicle that loses its body or that cannot be controlled properly due to radio problems, race damage, or missing parts will be red-flagged. A rerun may be allowed by the event chair if the lack of control was outside the driver’s control.
- Please register your radio frequency before you turn it on. Administration will attempt to notify drivers if there is a potential frequency conflict.
- Transmitters must be turned on before receivers. This prevents runaway cars.
- Transmitters may be turned on only at the start line or in the specified test/practice areas. Please do not turn on transmitters outside these two areas.
- If radio interference affects a person’s run, they get a rerun if they want it.
- Timing will be done with a single stopwatch. If you are concerned about a fellow competitor mistiming your run, you may request an unbiased timer. This must be done before the run – no re-runs are allowed because of a potentially biased timer after you have started your run.
- Keep your cars away from spectators. Spectators are asked to stay behind the line of cones that designate the spectator area.
- Closed toed shoes only are allowed in the competition or practice area.
